Financial Controller

Reporting to: General Manager and Group Financial Controller
Responsible for: Credit Controller
As Financial Controller of a fully self-accounting business unit, your responsibilities will include:
Complete responsibility for the control and production of monthly profit & loss and balance sheet
Ensuring that all financial controls are implemented within the hotel and that Heads of Department adhere to these control procedures.
Ensuring that all costs are controlled within the budgetary framework and according to business levels.
Production of a 3 month rolling forecast on a weekly basis.
Managing hotel purchase ledger and sales ledger functions.
Managing hotel payroll function.
Managing Credit Control function through Credit Controller to ensure all debts are collected within terms
Ensuring completion of the revenue audit function.
Ensuring that hotel accounts packs including profit and loss and balance sheet are produced each period within prescribed timescales.
Production of year end accounts pack for presentation to external auditors.
Completion of annual budget and associated commentary in tandem with General Manager and Revenue Manager, overseen by Group Financial Controller.
Ensuring all ledgers are kept in balance.
Completion of bank account reconciliation.
Meeting all financial reporting deadlines.
Imparting financial knowledge to Heads of Department and General Manager to maximise profitability of the business at all times.
Training, developing and managing team members within the finance department and associated departments to adhere to company policy and procedures in relation to accounting.
Assistant Housekeeper

The Speedbird Inn is a busy 202 bedroom hotel just 350m from Aberdeen Airport. We are seeking an enthusiastic Supervisor to join our Housekeeping team. As Supervisor you will be responsible for ensuring a high standard is maintained within bedrooms and public areas of the hotel. This role will involve working closely with the Head Housekeeper and Housekeeping team to ensure the smooth running of the department. Tasks will include allocating rooms to Room Attendants, checking rooms to ensure standards have been achieved and providing feedback as required to rectify issues. You will be required to communicate effectively with Reception regarding the status of rooms and update the computerised system accordingly. Training and coaching of team members will be an essential part of this role. Duty Management shifts will also be involved.
Food & Beverage Assistant Manager
Department: Food & Beverage Department Job closing date: 03/06/13 Salary/Hourly rate: £7.53 per hour
The Speedbird Inn is a busy 202 bedroom hotel, just 250m from Aberdeen Airport, which experiences high levels of occupancy all year round. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic team player who enjoys the excitement of a busy bar and restaurant operation. Due to the fast paced environment, you will be the type of person who enjoys a challenge and can ensure a high standard of customer care is offered consistently. You'll be able keep calm, even when under pressure. This is a "hands-on" operational role, and you will be a supportive team member who ensures the smooth running of the shift. Responsibilities will include; serving guests, organising shifts to ensure that duties are completed on a timely basis, ensuring billing procedures and cashing-up procedures are complied with at all times in line with company standards and ensuring that team members are doing what is required of them to an acceptable standard and providing feedback as required. You will be involved in training team members in food and bar service, therefore you will be knowledgeable within both areas. You will report to the F & B Manager and make an important contribution to the department with a team of 12 F & B Attendants. Duty Management shifts will also be involved

You will be knowledgeable in both food and bar service procedures and will be responsible for ensuring that billing is accurate.
